The Challenge

Rear‑mounted slashers work well for a lot of tasks, but they’re not suited to trimming row‑planted Leucaena. Driving over the rows exposes the tractor to the leucaena stems, slows down operations, and increases maintenance costs. Contractors with specialised forestry machinery can handle heavy growth, but they’re not cost effective for routine trimming.

The AgTrim Solution

AgTrim’s offset mounting system repositions the slasher so it operates laterally beside the tractor. This simple change allows operators to trim Leucaena rows cleanly while keeping the tractor completely clear of the vegetation.

A reliable, efficient trimming system that keeps Leucaena in optimal browsing condition without damaging your tractor or relying on specialised equipment.

Note: AgTrim works best for plants that have recently been trimmed (within 12-18 months) and therefore do not have large stem diameter. If the stems are too large, there is the risk of damage to the slasher or gearboxes.

How to Use the AgTrim:

1. Unbolt and rotate your slasher gearbox by 90degrees. The input PTO shaft needs to be perpendicular to the tractor

2. Connect the AgTrim frame to the tractor

3. Connect the slasher to the AgTrim frame

4. Connect your slasher PTO shaft from the tractor to the AgTrim gearbox

5. Connect a second PTO shaft from the AgTrim gearbox to the slasher gearbox

6. Use the support wheel ram, tractor 3pt linkage and supplied slasher wheel spacers to set your desired cutting height 

7. Set the tractor to PTO 1000

8. Trim your leucaena
